Vorteile moderner Schnittschutzstiefel

Einen guten Schnittschutzschuh macht mehr aus, als nur die Schnittschutzklasse. Sie müssen auch bequem und trittfest sein.

Die ersten Schnittschutzstiefel: Gummi als bewährtes Material

Die ersten Schnittschutzstiefel waren aus Gummi. Besser gesagt aus Natur-Kautschuk. In etwas modernisierter Form sind sie noch immer auf dem Markt.
Ihre Vorteile: sie sind absolut wasserdicht und preiswert. Allerdings geben sie dem Fuß in schwererem Gelände nicht so viel Halt. In Kombination mit dicken Socken und vielleicht sogar mit Neopren-Futter sind sie aber eine gute Wahl für das winterliche Brennholzmachen.

Moderne Schnittschutzstiefel: Mehr Komfort und Funktionalität

Moderne Schnittschutzstiefel haben Trekking- oder Bergschuhe als Basis. Sie bieten viel Komfort, einen guten Halt und auch über den Schnittschutz hinaus viel Funktion.

Schnittschutzschuhe Schnittschutzstiefel

Schnittschutzstiefel sind Arbeitsschuhe, die der Schnittschutz-Norm EN ISO 17249:2013 genügen müssen. Dafür haben sie unter anderem eine Schutzkappe sowie eine Schnittschutzeinlage.
Es gibt drei Schnittschutzklassen: 3 (28 m/s), 2 (24 m/s) und 1 (20 m/s).

Ein wichtiges Ausstattungsmerkmal ist die Membran. Sie sorgt dafür, dass Wasser draußen bleibt, der Schuh aber trotzdem atmungsaktiv ist.
Schnittschutzstiefel mit Membran sind Allrounder für den ganzjährigen Einsatz. Da jedoch auch die beste Membran nie so viel Schweiß verdampfen lässt, wie vom Körper produziert wird, gibt es auch Schuhe ohne Membran. Ihre Domäne ist der Sommer. Aber gut gepflegt, eignen sie sich ebenso auch für alle anderen Jahreszeiten.

Schnittschutzstiefel für jedes Einsatzgebiet

Je nach Einsatzgelände einfach, anspruchsvoll oder schwierig gibt es unterschiedliche Modelle.
Sie lassen sich schon optisch unterscheiden: ähneln sie bequemen Trekkingschuhen, sind sie eher für einfachere Verhältnisse geeignet, erinnert ihr Aussehen an Hochgebirgsstiefel, für schwierige. Bei Letzteren ist ein hochgezogener Geröllschutzrand aus Gummi als Schutz des Leders im unteren Bereich sinnvoll.

Am häufigsten wird als Obermaterial hydrophobiertes – also wasserabweisendes – Rindsleder verwendet. Leder mit rauer Oberfläche ist weniger empfindlich gegen Kratzer.
Ein weiteres Qualitätsmerkmal sind Sohlen des italienischen Herstellers Vibram.

Bei der Auswahl sollte großer Wert auf eine gute Passform gelegt werden. Das gilt nicht nur für den Bereich des Fußes sondern auch für den Knöchelschutz und den Schaftabschluss.
Schnittschutzstiefel passen sich zwar im Laufe der Zeit noch besser an den Fuß des Trägers an, moderne Schuhe müssen aber nicht mehr eingelaufen werden. Sie sollten schon beim ersten Tragen ein bequemes, komfortables Gefühl vermitteln.
Die richtige Pflege für eine lange Lebensdauer
Selbst wenn die Membran dafür sorgt, dass die Stiefel weitgehend wasserdicht sind – sie müssen trotzdem regelmäßig gepflegt werden.
Gereinigt werden sie am besten mit einer Bürste und kaltem Wasser. Anschließend lässt man sie gut trocknen. Aber keinesfalls an einem heißen Heizkörper oder Ofen, sondern in einem warmen, gut durchlüftetem Raum.
Anschließend sollten sie mit einem geeigneten Schuhpflegemittel behandelt und bei Bedarf mit einem Spray imprägniert werden. Für die Schuhpflege gibt es auch ein Komplettset , bestehend aus Bürsten und Pflegemittel.

Tipp:Auch nach jedem Tragen sollten die Schuhe gut auslüften. Das erhöht die Haltbarkeit.
